Frequently asked questions about make-to-drawing / OEM aluminum alloy die casting — materials, process, lead time and quality — from Shaoxing Lian Electric Co., Ltd..
What industries and product fields do your company's aluminum alloy die castings primarily serve?+
The precision aluminum alloy die castings produced by Shaoxing Li'an Electric are widely applied across various industrial and consumer manufacturing sectors. Currently, our products primarily serve industries such as reducers, automotive, elevators, medical devices, photovoltaics, power, lighting, strollers, and automation equipment. Specific product forms include various helical gear and worm gear reducer housings, matching flanges, pneumatic end caps, motor housings, cantilever assemblies, and a wide range of precision hardware housings. Leveraging our comprehensive manufacturing capabilities—from in-house mould development and die casting to CNC precision machining and surface treatment—we are able to provide customized aluminum alloy die casting solutions featuring high dimensional stability, excellent mechanical properties, and consistent batch quality, tailored to the specific operating conditions and assembly requirements of diverse industries.
For aluminum alloy die castings with strict air-tightness requirements or high-precision fits, what specific quality assurance measures does your company implement during the manufacturing process and post-processing stages?+
To address the requirements for air tightness and high-precision fitting, our company relies on a comprehensive in-house closed-loop manufacturing system to provide specialized assurance. First, in the forming and machining stages, we possess complete in-house production capabilities ranging from mould design to die casting and then to CNC precision machining. Equipped with multiple CNC machining centers and CNC lathes, we effectively eliminate dimensional deviations caused by outsourcing, ensuring the machining precision and dimensional stability of complex structural components. Second, for products with strict leak-prevention requirements, such as reducer, automotive, and elevator parts, we provide professional impregnation post-treatment processes that effectively seal internal micro-pores in the castings, ensuring the air tightness of the products meets the required standards. Furthermore, integrated with the full-process inspection standards of the ISO9001 quality system and supported by surface treatments such as powder coating, we strictly control every procedure from the blank to the finished product, fully satisfying the purchasers' stringent requirements for high-performance, high-precision aluminum alloy die castings.
Does your company provide a one-stop, closed-loop in-house service from mould development and die casting to machining and surface treatment?+
Yes, our company offers one-stop, in-house closed-loop production capabilities, covering everything from mould development to the shipment of finished products. We operate an independent mould production workshop, enabling us to design and manufacture high-precision die casting moulds based on customer drawings. Following the die casting process, all subsequent operations—including precision CNC machining, surface coating, and impregnation treatment—are independently completed using our own facility's equipment and dedicated team. This full-process, in-house closed-loop model effectively eliminates the risks associated with outsourcing sub-processes, such as inconsistent datums, tolerance accumulation, and miscommunication leading to rework. Coupled with our high-precision inspection equipment, such as coordinate measuring machines, this allows us to achieve end-to-end quality control—from mould iteration and blank forming to precision machining and finishing—ensuring exceptional dimensional stability and consistency for a wide range of complex aluminum alloy die castings used in reducers, automotive, elevator, and medical applications.
How do you ensure product quality?+
We are equipped with a CMM, air-leak tester and other inspection tools, with in-process self-checks to guarantee dimensional accuracy and consistency.
What about sampling time and lead time?+
It depends on mould complexity — new mould development and sampling usually take a few weeks; mass-production lead time is quoted per order. Contact us to confirm.
What is your die-casting tonnage and machining capacity?+
We run 180–500T cold-chamber die-casting machines plus CNC machining centers and CNC lathes, covering small-to-medium precision aluminum castings and post-machining.
What materials and surface treatments do you offer?+
We mainly die-cast aluminum alloys such as ADC12; surface treatments include sandblasting, powder coating, anodizing, impregnation and e-coating as required.
Do you accept custom orders by drawing or sample?+
Yes. Send us your drawing or sample and we provide one-stop customization — mould design, die casting, CNC machining and surface finishing — with NDA available.
